reflection on lessons-listening in No.6 primary school

      with the invitation of principal Fu, Mr Wang and i came to No.6 Primary school to listen five english classes. This is a great chance for me not only to  learn other teachers' advanced teaching experience but also Mr wang's abundant ways of lesson comment.  I hold a throbbing heart arriving there.
      Principal Fu told us their goal to hold such teaching activity : select  portential teachers for next month's live teaching showing meeting.  The school has established a  "five steps teaching approach"based on Professor Meng's EEPO education theory .  Namely, "self-learning" ,"cooperation", "showing and communication","knowledge accumulation", "checking". The theory fully exemplifies present hotly promoted " student-centered,teacher-led"ways of teaching. Similarily, each new ways of reform has one aim in common: better forge students' self learning ability, impart students more learning methods. From this point of view, which add more requirement to teachers. Teachers should get rid of the traditional ways of teaching.  so-called" irrrigation". At present, teachers play the role of a guide.
        Today, there are totally five lessons, two vocabulary classes,two dialugue classes,and one review class.  the two vocabulary classes: one is from Grade Five Unit One "this is my day"Part A . the other is Unit Two"what's your favourite season" part A.  The two dialogue classes are from Grade 3 Unit one "Welcome back to school" A let's talk.     The review class is from Grade 6 Unit One "How tall are you" Part A .
       As to the vocabulary class, i'v listened for many times, most teachers like giving such mode of lesson during pubilc classes
or even demo classes. Perhaps ,the teaching process is comperatively simple. { lead-in new words, teach, practise( including mechanical and meaningful), consolidate(games,task-based activities),and check}. Though the process is clear, a well-designed lesson need to consider how to goes smoothly each step.
                             how to finish the teaching aim,
what group activity choose can effectively help students. 
In my view, some teachers begin the class with greetings ,then, ask students some oral english without linking to the will-learning knowledge point. at last, goes directly to the topic. Such a transitional communication doesn't act as a "connecting role" just waste of time. in this way, it;s better to go dierctly to the topic. Besides, some ways of teaching new words are too dull, teacher read,Ss follow, why not use some interesting ways, eg,"low-high vocie""bomb"and so on. Most importantly, the group cooperation didn't take effect in its truth sense, it's just a form. teacher gives a task to every group, Ss gather together but without concrete division of labour,they gathered just for fun. in this  case, it lose the meaning of cooperation. In all, every teacher has its own shining point. Miss Yu did so well in leading out new words. She uses stick drawing describing four season's features, Ss guess what season it is. This way can arouse Ss curiosity and interest for learning. Abstract word make it concrete.
apart from that, self-create chant, songs  linking to the theme are all good ways in today's teaching.
         What makes me at sixes and sevens is Grade 3's textbook. The content has ajdjusted in the new textbook. the first part is talking, then,leanring. Today's two "let's talk" need improvement. One was taught by non-english major teacher from rural school .the other teacher even didn't prepare the lesson in advance. Obviously, lack of experience ,lack of preparation. how can a lesson be given satisfactory. From this point,  the distribution of english teachers in primary school need  balance. english
 majors to taking on the english lesson. At least, students can benefit from better pronounciation. after listening to the G3's lesson, one thought lingered on my mind, how to design such lesson under the condition of no new words lesson giving beforehand. this is a question need to learn from some school some teacher. Mr Wang suggested that we can create a scene which show the content of the talk. the aim is to give Ss the impression of the upcoming knowledge point. Ss can undertand \follow and speak out the talk ,these are enough.The requirement for the new learners should focus on listening and speaking. But today's two teachers ,perhaps are not clear about the new curriculum standard. One is too concentrate on words teaching in "let's talk". the other almost neglect teaching aim. the whole teaching process is not clear. the cooperation his class is of no effect. This teacher just let Ss to read the talk in groups,if has problems, Ss hands up. Without presentation, how can the students in G3 cooperate and read the dialogue.
           The review lesson ,the teacher just imitate the mode of  "five steps teaching approach" add sth. to each step. Thus lead to the reappearance of each period. What is review? it is not knowleage reappearance or exercises checking.It should be accumulation of  knowledge point within the whole unit.  This review lesson is solely conform to the "five steps approach".
           In all, teachers oral english need improvement. even if Ss can't understand, Teachers should persist in speaking simple english during teaching. what's more,so is  the pronnounciation . good intonation can folster Ss good language basis. A teacher with broken english would mislead Ss . Personally, i back home with harvest. Learn others streagth,improve myself. In recent days or months, specifically, everyday, i'd read and learn more theory not only from books but teachers' class. Start from zero.
